About Sophie
Sophie Hallali is the author of We Follow the Sun, the first book in the YA Fantasy series called the Twisted Roots Trilogy. She is studying Communications at the University of Iowa, and when she is not studying, dancing, or exploring, she can be found taking pictures of any cute animal she sees.

Sophie Hallali (ah-la-lee) has always loved writing. When she was five, she spent her time creating little paper books made with staples and crayons. Other career options were never seriously considered—even from an early age, she knew she wanted to be an author. It was just a matter of making it happen.
Skip ahead to her middle school and high school years, and she was still writing. While she worked away on the rough drafts of her first book, she played soccer, earned a black belt in kung-fu, did a little bit of theater and tennis, and read. Sophie is now studying at the University of Iowa.
Even though she attends college out of state, she still calls Seattle home. On breaks, she returns to reunite with her mom, her dad, her twin sister, the family’s new puppy Prince, and her sister’s quaker parrot, Tiki. Even though she will say she hates Tiki, (who frequently attempts to bite her) it’s only a mild exaggeration.
